Medway Man Convicted of Fraud and Collecting Section 8 Housing Funds

BOSTON – A Dominican national living in Medway was convicted yesterday of fraudulently receiving more than $120,000 in federal housing funds.

Samuel Stalin Lebreault Feliz, a/k/a Antonio Jose Rodriguez Rodriguez, was convicted following a four-day jury trial of two counts of passport fraud, false representations to the Social Security Administration, and theft of public money. U.S. District Judge Denise J. Casper scheduled sentencing for May 29, 2014...

Former Victoria Housing Authority Commissioner Charged with HUD and SSA Fraud

VICTORIA, Texas – Raquel Garcia, 37, has been charged in an three-count indictment alleging theft from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and fraud against the Social Security Administration (SSA), announced United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson.

The sealed indictment, returned Feb. 20, 2014, was unsealed this morning upon her arrest by federal authorities. She is expected to make her initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Janice B. Ellington at 2:00 p.m. today...

Ex-Public Housing Authority Head Pleads Guilty to Bribery

LAFAYETTE — The former director of the public housing authorities in Lafayette and Opelousas pleaded guilty Friday to federal bribery and wire fraud charges in an investigation of bid-rigging and questionable donations to a youth sports team.

Federal prosecutors said Walter O. Guillory, 51, was involved in a scheme that steered housing authority construction work to certain companies and that he also asked vendors who did business with the housing authorities to make annual donations to a baseball team he sponsored.

Total donations were in excess of $100,000 from 2006 to 2010, and Guillory also used some of the money for personal expenses, according to court filings from prosecutors...

Former LHA Director Walter Guillory faces bribery, fraud charges

The former director of Nassau County's Office of Housing and Community Development, who admitted to ripping off more than $122,000 in housing aid meant for the poor, begged Monday not to be sent to prison, but a federal judge castigated the former official and sentenced him to 18 months.
