The objective of the audit is to assess whether HUD has adequate oversight of public housing agencies’ corrective actions in response to (1) public housing agencies’ annual inspections and (2) the Real Estate Assessment Center’s periodic inspections to ensure that corrections result in decent, safe, and sanitary housing.
