HUD OIG has released its latest Semiannual Report to Congress, highlighting oversight work conducted from October 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026.

The report reflects HUD OIG’s continued efforts to strengthen HUD programs, protect taxpayer dollars, and promote accountability through investigations, audits, evaluations, and oversight initiatives across the country.

Highlights from the reporting period include:
• $43 million in audit collections
• More than $30 million in recoveries and receivables
• 86 arrests and 39 convictions, pleas, and pretrial diversions
• Coordinated enforcement operations resulting in 55 arrests in HUD-assisted housing

The report also highlights coordinated enforcement actions, significant investigative cases, and recommendations aimed at improving program integrity and oversight.

In his message to Congress, Acting Inspector General Brian Harrison emphasized that combating fraud remains a core priority and noted that safeguarding taxpayer resources helps strengthen housing programs serving communities nationwide.

This report reflects the continued dedication and collaboration across HUD OIG in support of the agency’s mission.
