California-based Grantee Draws Near Hold in Federal Funding

HUD OIG is auditing a California-based grantee’s CDBG, CDBG-CV, HOPWA, and ESG programs. The grantee was allocated about $15 million for these grant programs to address housing, homeless, community and economic needs. Our audit objective is to determine whether draws made by the grantee near the time of the hold in federal funding were in accordance with program requirements.

Washington-based Grantee CDBG and CDBG-CV program

HUD OIG is auditing a Washington-based grantee's Community Planning and Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Community Planning and Development Coronavirus, Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act (CDBG-CV) program.  The grantee was allocated about $9 million annually in CDBG funds and about $11 million in CARES Act CDBG-CV funds to address housing, homeless, community and economic needs.

A Review of Pandemic Relief Funding and How It Was Used In Six U.S. Communities: Jicarilla Apache Nation Reservation in New Mexico

This report was issued from a series of six reports taking an in-depth look at how six communities used the pandemic funding they received to address a wide range of needs. This report focused on Jicarilla Apache Nation Reservation in New Mexico with a detailed look at six of the 42 pandemic programs that provided funding to the community. This report was led by the Pandemic Relief Accountability Committee (PRAC) in coordination with HUD OIG as a project participant as well as additional Federal OIGs.

This report was issued from a developing series of six reports taking an in-depth look at how six communities used the pandemic funding they received to address a wide range of needs. This report focused on Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with a detailed look at six of the 27 pandemic programs that provided funding to the community. This report was led by the Pandemic Relief Accountability Committee (PRAC) in coordination with HUD OIG as a project participant as well as five additional Federal OIGs.

HUD’s Office of Community Planning and Development Can Improve Its Monitoring of Civil Rights Compliance

We audited the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Community Planning and Development’s (CPD) monitoring of grantees’ compliance with civil rights requirements. Our audit focused on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME). Our audit objective was to assess the extent to which CPD monitored civil rights compliance in its program activities.CPD could improve its civil rights compliance monitoring reviews.
